मृत्युञ्जय-विद्या-प्रादुर्भावः
The Manifestation/Transmission of the Mṛtyuñjaya Vidyā
महेश्वर उवाच । तपोनिधे महाभाग भृगुपुत्र महामुने । तपसानेन ते नित्यं प्रसन्नोऽहं विशेषतः
maheśvara uvāca | taponidhe mahābhāga bhṛguputra mahāmune | tapasānena te nityaṃ prasanno'haṃ viśeṣataḥ
Maheśvara bersabda: “Wahai khazanah tapa, wahai yang amat berbahagia—wahai mahamuni, putera Bhṛgu—dengan tapa yang engkau lakukan ini, Aku sentiasa berkenan, bahkan dengan cara yang khusus.”

The verse teaches that sincere tapas (disciplined spiritual effort) draws Shiva’s prasāda (grace). In a Shaiva Siddhanta lens, the Lord’s favor is not arbitrary—purification through tapas makes the soul fit to receive Shiva’s liberating compassion.
It highlights Saguna Shiva as the responsive Lord who becomes “pleased” with the devotee’s disciplined practice. Linga-worship accompanied by tapas—vows, purity, restraint, and steady japa—becomes a direct means to invite Shiva’s manifest grace.
