शुक्रोत्पत्तिः तथा महेश्वरदर्शनम् (Śukra’s Emergence and the Vision of Maheśvara)
सोहं दीनो भक्तियुक्त आगतश्शरणं तव । रक्षा मयि विधातव्या रचितोऽयं मयांजलिः
sohaṃ dīno bhaktiyukta āgataśśaraṇaṃ tava | rakṣā mayi vidhātavyā racito'yaṃ mayāṃjaliḥ
Aku ini hina dan papa, namun berbhakti, telah datang berlindung kepada-Mu. Perlindungan hendaklah Engkau anugerahkan kepadaku—lihatlah, aku telah merapatkan kedua tangan dalam añjali yang penuh hormat.

It expresses śaraṇāgati—humble surrender to Pati (Lord Shiva) by a helpless soul (paśu). In Shaiva Siddhanta, such devotion and self-offering invite Shiva’s anugraha (grace), which protects and uplifts the devotee.
The verse is a direct appeal to Saguna Shiva as the compassionate protector. In Linga worship, the same mood is enacted through offering, namaskāra (añjali), and prayer—approaching the Linga as Shiva’s accessible, grace-bestowing presence.
Practice daily añjali with sincere prayer of refuge, and support it with japa of the Panchākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” ideally alongside simple Shiva-pūjā (water offering) on Mahāśivarātri or Mondays.
