Sthala Purana: Colophon verse concluding the chapter “Śukranigīrṇana” (Śukra being swallowed). It functions as a textual closure marker rather than a tīrtha-episode.
Significance: Primarily a pāṭha (recitation) marker; merit is tied to śravaṇa/pāraayaṇa of the Purāṇa rather than a specific kṣetra.
This is the chapter-colophon marking completion of the “Śukranigīrṇana” episode, reminding the listener that the Purāṇa’s battles ultimately point to Śiva as the supreme protector (Pati) who subdues pride and restores dharma.
By naming the Yuddha-khaṇḍa and the specific līlā, it frames the narrative as meditation on Saguna Śiva—Śiva acting within time and form—whose deeds are contemplated in Purāṇic recitation and Linga-worship as a means to steadiness of devotion.
As a colophon verse, it chiefly supports śravaṇa and pāraṇa (devotional listening/recitation); a practical takeaway is to conclude the reading with Panchākṣarī japa (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and offer water or bilva to the Linga in gratitude.
