शुक्रस्य जठरस्थत्वं तथा मृत्युशमनी-विद्या (Śukra in Śiva’s belly and the death-subduing vidyā)
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Sthala Purana: Not a Jyotirliṅga account; the verse frames a kathā-question about emergence from Śiva’s ‘belly-cage’ and subsequent ārādhana—typical Purāṇic setup for a grace-bestowing episode.
Role: liberating
The verse frames Śiva as Pati (the Lord and liberator) whose grace is accessed through sustained ārādhana; it highlights that the manner and duration of devotion matter, pointing to disciplined bhakti as a path to Śiva’s anugraha (saving grace).
By asking “how he worshipped” and “for how long,” the text emphasizes practical Saguna worship—structured propitiation of Śambhu—often expressed in Purāṇic practice through Liṅga-upāsanā, mantra-japa, and vrata, culminating in the Lord’s tangible response.
The verse suggests prolonged, disciplined ārādhana—such as daily mantra-japa (especially the Pañcākṣarī, ‘Om Namaḥ Śivāya’), steady dhyāna on Śiva, and vrata-style worship—performed consistently over a defined period to invoke Śiva’s grace.
