Description of the Battle between Śiva and Śaṅkhacūḍa
Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating the Yuddhakhaṇḍa account to the sages)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Paśupatinātha
It portrays Śiva (Pati) as the sovereign power whose presence can suddenly pervade all realms—sky, earth, and directions—awakening reverence and dissolving the limited ego of the pashu (bound soul).
The verse emphasizes Saguna Śiva’s manifest majesty—His audible, experiential power—supporting Linga worship where the devotee contemplates Śiva as immanent in all space and directions while remaining the supreme Lord.
Practice Panchākṣarī japa (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with bhāva of Śiva’s all-pervasion, and optionally apply Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) before meditation to steady humility and devotional awe.
