शङ्खचूडदूतागमनम् — The Arrival of Śaṅkhacūḍa’s Envoy

and Praise of Śiva

दानवीं योनिमायातस्तत्त्वतो न हि दानवः । निजवृतं पुरा ज्ञात्वा देववैरं त्यजाधुना

dānavīṃ yonimāyātastattvato na hi dānavaḥ | nijavṛtaṃ purā jñātvā devavairaṃ tyajādhunā

Walaupun engkau memasuki rahim Dānava, pada hakikatnya engkau bukanlah Dānava. Setelah mengetahui jalan laku dirimu dahulu, tinggalkanlah segera permusuhan terhadap para Deva.

It teaches that birth in a certain lineage does not define one’s essential truth; by right discernment and remembrance of one’s higher dharmic nature, one should renounce hostility and move toward purification—an outlook aligned with Shaiva Siddhanta where the soul (paśu) is obscured by impurities (pāśa) but not identical to them.

Renouncing deva-vaira (enmity to the divine order) is an inner preparation for Saguna Shiva worship—approaching the Liṅga with humility, reconciliation, and devotion rather than egoic opposition, which Shaiva texts treat as a key disposition for grace (anugraha).

A practical takeaway is to adopt a daily repentance-and-release practice: offer water to the Shiva Liṅga, apply Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) with remembrance, and repeat the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” while consciously relinquishing resentment and hostility.
