It highlights bhakti expressed as humble prostration and disciplined service—Skanda’s devotion is shown through obedience to Śiva’s will, reflecting the Shaiva Siddhanta ideal of aligning the soul (paśu) with the Lord (Pati).
By naming Śiva as Chandrashekhara, the verse emphasizes Saguna worship—adoration of Śiva with divine attributes—where reverence (praṇāma) and loyal attendance are core modes of approach, just as devotees serve the Linga with upacāras and surrender.
A practical takeaway is daily praṇāma to Śiva (before the Liṅga), coupled with sankalpa of obedience—mentally offering one’s actions to Śiva, optionally supported by japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” as an attitude of service.
