It highlights Shaiva dharma: when one accepts a righteous duty as an offering to the Lord (Pati), the mind becomes steady and content; such inner ease is a fruit of aligned action rather than mere sense-enjoyment.
Obedience to Shiva’s command reflects Saguna devotion—serving the Lord’s will in the world. In Shaiva Siddhanta, such service purifies the pashu (individual soul) and supports steadiness in worship, including Linga-upasana.
The takeaway is niyama and seva: perform one’s appointed duty with calmness while remembering Shiva—e.g., daily japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) to keep the mind content and duty-focused.
