देवस्तुतिः (Devastuti) — Hymn/Praise of the Devas
सत्यलोकोऽसि लोकानां सरितां द्युसरिद्भवान् । श्वेतवर्णोऽसि वर्णानां सरसां मानसं सरः
satyaloko'si lokānāṃ saritāṃ dyusaridbhavān | śvetavarṇo'si varṇānāṃ sarasāṃ mānasaṃ saraḥ
Di antara segala loka, engkaulah Satyaloka; di antara segala sungai, engkaulah sungai samawi. Di antara segala warna, engkaulah putih; dan di antara segala tasik, engkaulah Tasik Mānasa yang suci.

Sthala Purana: The verse is a superlative-style stuti ("among X, you are the highest X"), mapping Śiva onto cosmic excellences (Satyaloka, celestial Gaṅgā, whiteness, Mānasa). It functions as a theological elevation rather than a site-origin narrative.
Significance: Frames Śiva as the transcendent summit of purity and sanctity; contemplation of these correspondences is presented as merit-giving praise (stuti) that purifies the devotee’s mind.

The verse uses “best-of” identifications to train the mind toward the Supreme Principle: by contemplating the highest and purest exemplars (Satyaloka, heavenly river, whiteness, Mānasa), devotion becomes single-pointed and the intellect is led toward Shiva as the transcendent source of all excellence.
Such superlative praises function like a nāmāvalī for Saguna worship—offering Shiva the highest place in every category—while implicitly pointing beyond forms to the Nirguna source from which all purity and greatness arise, which the Linga symbolizes.
Recite the verse as a short praise before japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), visualizing inner whiteness/purity (śveta) and a mind-lake (mānasa-saras) becoming calm and clear; this supports dhyāna and śiva-bhakti, especially on Mahāśivarātri.
