शिवतत्त्ववर्णनम् (Śiva-tattva-varṇana) — “Description/Exposition of the Principle of Śiva”

Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Shakti Form: Umā
Role: creative
Cosmic Event: emanational sequencing: Śakti associates with Brahmā to enable sṛṣṭi; further śakti-streams arise from Prakṛti
It presents creation as Śiva’s order working through Śakti: the Goddess associates with Brahmā so that the cosmos can manifest, while further energies arise from Prakṛti—showing that divine consciousness (Pati) and power (Śakti) govern Nature rather than being limited by it.
Linga-worship honors Śiva as the transcendent source, while acknowledging His Saguna operation through Śakti; this verse explains that the manifest world proceeds via Śakti’s function with Brahmā, so devotion to Śiva naturally includes reverence for His inseparable power.
Meditate on Śiva-Śakti unity while japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), contemplating that all creative and transformative energies arise under Śiva’s lordship; this supports steady devotion and inner detachment from mere Prakṛti.
