कामजीवनहेतोर्हि रत्या संप्रार्थितैस्सुरैः । सम्प्रार्थित उवाचेदं शंकरो लोकशंकरः

kāmajīvanahetorhi ratyā saṃprārthitaissuraiḥ | samprārthita uvācedaṃ śaṃkaro lokaśaṃkaraḥ

Demi tujuan menghidupkan kembali Kāma (dewa hasrat), setelah dipohon dengan sungguh-sungguh oleh Rati bersama para dewa, Śaṅkara—penyantun segala alam—lalu bersabda sebagai jawapan kepada permohonan mereka.
