सृष्टिक्रमवर्णनम् / Description of the Sequence of Creation

अहं विष्णुश्च रुद्रश्च गुणास्त्रय उदाहृताः । स्वयं सदा निर्गुणश्च परब्रह्माव्ययश्शिवः

ahaṃ viṣṇuśca rudraśca guṇāstraya udāhṛtāḥ | svayaṃ sadā nirguṇaśca parabrahmāvyayaśśivaḥ

“Aku (Brahmā), Viṣṇu dan Rudra disebut sebagai tiga guṇa (fungsi alam). Namun Śiva sendiri sentiasa melampaui guṇa—tidak binasa, Brahman Tertinggi, wujud dengan sendirinya dan tidak berubah.”

It distinguishes the cosmic roles associated with the three guṇas from the supreme reality: Śiva as Parabrahman is not limited by sattva, rajas, or tamas, and liberation comes by realizing Him as the transcendent Pati (Lord) beyond nature.

Though Śiva is nirguṇa in essence, devotees approach Him through saguna supports like the Śivaliṅga; the Liṅga is a compassionate, worshipful gateway to the same imperishable Parabrahman described here.

Meditate on Śiva as nirguṇa Parabrahman while performing saguna worship—japa of the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” offered with bhakti to the Liṅga—so the mind rises beyond guṇic agitation toward steadiness and mokṣa.
