Explaining Viṣṇu’s Role at Dakṣa’s Sacrifice

The verse teaches that śravaṇa (devotional listening) to Śiva’s carita is a valid spiritual means: it clarifies right understanding and dissolves doubt, supporting the seeker’s movement toward grace and liberation in a Shaiva Siddhanta spirit.
By praising the ‘Moon-crested’ Lord, it points to Saguna Śiva—Śiva known through attributes and sacred stories—through whom devotees gain steadiness of faith that supports Linga-worship and disciplined devotion.
The implied practice is Shiva-kathā-śravaṇa (listening/recitation). As a practical takeaway, one may hear or recite Shiva Purana passages with devotion, optionally alongside japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” to remove confusion and firm up sādhanā.
