FAQs

The verse stresses urgency and right agency in approaching Parameśvara: the seeker (or appointed devotee) must actively invoke Śiva, while recognizing that even cosmic powers like Brahmā and Viṣṇu function as instruments under the Supreme Lord.

Āhvāna is a key step in Saguna worship—inviting the Lord to be present for worship (often of the Liṅga). The verse supports the Shaiva view that even when invoked through other deities or rites, the intended Supreme is Śiva (Parameśvara).

It implies prompt āhvāna with focused devotion—practically done through mantra-japa (especially the Panchākṣarī, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and a simple invocation before Liṅga-pūjā; if following Purāṇic ritual, one may accompany it with bhasma (tripuṇḍra) and reverent remembrance of Śiva.
