Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Shakti Form: Satī
Role: liberating
The verse highlights Shiva as Pati (the Supreme Lord) who, by grace, bestows śakti—will, knowledge, and action—so that the devotee or divine counterpart can carry out dharma and līlā in the three worlds, while remaining dependent on Shiva’s higher sovereignty in Shaiva Siddhanta.
In Saguna worship, the Liṅga signifies Shiva as the source of all powers; this verse frames all effective action (prabhāva) and divine play as arising from Shiva’s bestowed śakti, encouraging devotees to see their capacity for worship and transformation as Shiva’s gift.
A practical takeaway is meditation on Shiva as the giver of icchā-jñāna-kriyā śaktis while chanting the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), offering bhasma (Tripuṇḍra) and cultivating surrender so one’s will and action align with Shiva’s grace.
