शिवानुकम्पा, ब्रह्मणो निर्भयत्वं च (Śiva’s Compassion and Brahmā’s Fearlessness)
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pasha
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Significance: Promises nirvighnatā (obstacle-free completion) for auspicious rites; in Śaiva Siddhānta this is read as Śiva’s anugraha loosening pāśa (bondage/impediments) so dharma-karmas proceed harmoniously.
Role: nurturing
It teaches that when an act is aligned with Shiva-oriented auspiciousness (śubha), the binding forces that create impediments (vighna) subside, allowing dharmic rites—especially life-sacraments like marriage—to proceed smoothly.
In the Shiva Purana’s ritual frame, obstacle-free completion of samskāras is achieved through propitiation of Saguna Shiva—commonly via Linga worship—so that divine grace steadies the rite and removes disruptions.
Perform the rite with Shiva-bhakti and śubha-saṅkalpa—typically supported by Shiva pūjā (Linga worship), mantra-japa such as “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” and maintaining ritual purity—so the ceremony remains nirvighna.
