The Manifestation/Arising of Kāma
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
It teaches that the three cosmic operations—creation, preservation, and dissolution—are ultimately governed by one Supreme Reality, Sadāśiva. In Shaiva Siddhānta terms, Śiva as Pati is the inner Lord who empowers all functional deities and remains the transcendent source beyond their roles.
The Liṅga signifies Sadāśiva as the formless ground of all forms; worship of the Liṅga is worship of the One who appears as Brahmā, Viṣṇu, and Rudra for sṛṣṭi-sthiti-laya. Saguna Śiva devotion focuses on this accessible Lord who performs cosmic governance while still being rooted in the Supreme.
Meditate on Sadāśiva as the single Pati behind all change, and japa the Pañcākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” with the intent of seeing creation, maintenance, and dissolution as His śakti. Offering bhasma (Tripuṇḍra) and using rudrākṣa can be taken as supportive Shaiva disciplines for steady remembrance.
