pradakṣiṇāṃ prakurvaṃtyā vahnessatyāḥ padadvayam | āvirbabhūva vasanāttadadrākṣamahaṃ mune
Wahai resi, ketika Satī melakukan pradakṣiṇā mengelilingi Api suci, dua jejak kakinya tiba-tiba tampak menembusi kain pakaiannya—aku sendiri menyaksikannya.
Brahmā (narrating to Nārada, within Sūta’s larger narration to the sages)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shakti Form: Satī
Role: teaching
It highlights Satī’s pure, embodied devotion expressed through pradakṣiṇā; the sudden manifestation of her footprints is portrayed as a divine sign affirming the sanctity of her bhakti and the sacredness of the rite.
Pradakṣiṇā is a core outer expression of inner surrender used in Saguna worship—performed around the Liṅga, the deity, or the consecrated fire—signifying that the devotee places the Lord at the center of life and action.
Practice mindful pradakṣiṇā with reverence—keeping the chosen sacred center (Liṅga, shrine, or consecrated space) to one’s right—while maintaining inward remembrance of Śiva through mantra-japa such as “Om Namaḥ Śivāya.”
