देवर्षि-प्रश्नः तथा असुर-वध-हेतुनिवेदनम् | The Devas’ Petition and the Cause for Slaying Asuras
उचितं न सुरश्रेष्ठौ विवाहकरणं मम । तपोरतविरक्तस्य सदा विदितयोगिनः
ucitaṃ na suraśreṣṭhau vivāhakaraṇaṃ mama | taporataviraktasya sadā viditayoginaḥ
“Wahai yang terbaik antara para dewa, tidaklah wajar kamu berdua mengatur perkahwinan-Ku; kerana Aku sentiasa tekun dalam tapa, bebas daripada tujuan duniawi, dan seorang yogin yang jalannya sentiasa dikenal sebagai pelepasan diri serta disiplin batin.”

The verse highlights Shiva as the supreme yogin—established in tapas and vairagya—teaching that liberation is rooted in inner discipline and freedom from worldly binding desires, even when worldly roles (like marriage) arise in the divine play.
Shiva’s self-description as an ever-detached yogin aligns with Linga worship, where the Linga signifies the timeless, inward reality of Shiva; even when Saguna narratives unfold, the core is the same: the transcendent Pati who is untouched by worldly ties.
Emphasize japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with a renunciant mindset, supported by simple Shaiva observances like applying Tripuṇḍra bhasma and cultivating daily meditation on detachment and steadiness.
