Kemudian, setelah bersujud dengan penuh hormat, dia memuji Dewi yang bercahaya itu—bermata kemerah-merahan, berambut terurai indah, Ibu semesta—dengan ucapan pujian yang menakjubkan dan beraneka ragam.
Suta Goswami (narrating to the sages at Naimisharanya)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Satī
Role: nurturing
Offering: pushpa
The verse highlights bhakti expressed through humble prostration (praṇāma) and heartfelt praise (stuti), portraying the Goddess as jagatprasū—Mother of the cosmos—whose grace supports spiritual upliftment under Shiva’s supreme lordship (Pati) in the Shaiva view.
Though the verse praises the Goddess, it reflects the Shiva Purana’s Saguna framework: devotion to Shakti is inseparable from devotion to Shiva, and reverent stuti becomes a supportive limb of Linga-centered worship by cultivating purity, surrender, and grace-oriented devotion.
A practical takeaway is to begin worship with su-praṇāma (full reverential bow) and then recite a short stuti; this can be paired with japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” to stabilize the mind in devotion before deeper meditation.
