Hymn to Devī Yogānidrā and the Manifestation of Caṇḍikā
Lord Brahmā (offering praise to the Goddess in the Satīkhaṇḍa narrative context)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Durgā
Role: liberating
Offering: pushpa
The verse identifies the Goddess as simultaneously the power of illumination (vidyā) and veiling (avidyā), yet essentially pure and of the nature of Supreme Reality—showing that bondage and liberation operate through Her, while She remains transcendent and worthy of devotion.
Calling Her “Śambhu-priyā” links Śiva worship with Śakti worship: in Shiva Purana devotion, the Linga (Saguna Śiva) is approached along with His inseparable power, through whom grace, protection, and spiritual transformation become effective.
A practical takeaway is stuti (hymnic praise) and dhyāna: meditate on the Goddess as pure, world-sustaining, and one with Śiva; then offer simple worship—bhasma/Tripuṇḍra and pañcākṣarī japa to Śiva, with devotional salutations to Durgā as His śakti.
