गिरिराजस्य शिवनिमन्त्रणम् / The Mountain-King Invites Śiva

Hospitality to Śiva and the Devas

यस्य द्वारि महेशानः परब्रह्म सतां गतिः । समागतस्सदासैश्च कृपया भक्तवत्सलः

yasya dvāri maheśānaḥ parabrahma satāṃ gatiḥ | samāgatassadāsaiśca kṛpayā bhaktavatsalaḥ

Di ambang pintu siapa, Maheśāna—Śiva sendiri, Brahman Tertinggi dan tempat kembali para saleh—telah datang, bersama para pengiring-Nya; kerana belas kasih, Dia berdiri di sana, sentiasa mengasihi para bhakta-Nya.

It teaches that Shiva, though the Supreme Brahman, becomes personally accessible through compassion, coming near to the devotee; for the virtuous, He is both the goal (moksha) and the refuge who removes bondage by grace.

By calling Shiva both Parabrahman and bhaktavatsala, the verse bridges nirguṇa truth and saguṇa worship: devotees approach Shiva through tangible devotion (such as Linga-pūjā), and Shiva responds with nearness and grace.

Cultivate bhakti as daily “welcoming Shiva at the door” through Linga worship with water/abhisheka, japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), and reverent remembrance of Shiva’s compassion.
