वैवाहिकानुष्ठानसमापनं दानप्रशंसा च / Completion of Wedding Rites and Praise of Gifts
Dāna
शच्युवाच । कृत्वा विलापं यद्धेतोः शिवां कृत्वा च वक्षसि । यो बभ्रामानिशं मोहात् का लज्जा ते प्रियाम्प्रति
śacyuvāca | kṛtvā vilāpaṃ yaddhetoḥ śivāṃ kṛtvā ca vakṣasi | yo babhrāmāniśaṃ mohāt kā lajjā te priyāmprati
Śacī berkata: “Demi siapa engkau meratap—sedangkan engkau telah mendakap Śivā ke dadamu—namun kemudian, kerana khayal, engkau mengembara sepanjang malam? Apakah rasa malu atau batasan yang masih tinggal dalam dirimu terhadap kekasihmu?”

The verse highlights how moha (delusion) makes the mind inconsistent—clinging in emotion yet wandering in confusion. In Shaiva thought, steadiness (dhairya) and clarity are restored by turning the heart from restless attachment to focused devotion to Śiva-Śakti.
It points to the need for inner integrity in worship: external closeness or emotion is not enough if the mind roams. Linga/Saguna-Śiva worship trains single-pointedness (ekāgratā), transforming unstable feeling into mature bhakti aligned with dharma.
A practical takeaway is japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) to curb mental wandering, along with simple Śiva-upāsanā such as applying tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and maintaining a calm, truthful mind before worship.
