Brahmā’s Enchantment by Desire during the Wedding Rites

Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
The verse highlights kāma-moha (delusion by desire) as a binding pasha (bond) that can distort even high cosmic functions; Śiva, as Pati, restores dharma by subduing such delusion and re-establishing purity of intent.
It presents Saguna Śiva as the active Lord who protects dharma and disciplines desire; Linga-worship centers on approaching this same Lord for inner purification, so that kāma is transformed and the mind becomes fit for Śiva-jñāna.
The practical takeaway is kama-nigraha (restraint of desire) through japa of the Panchākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” along with steady devotion and purity disciplines (such as bhasma-dhāraṇa/Tripuṇḍra where customary) to calm agitation and align with Śiva’s grace.
