देवसान्त्वनम् (Devasāntvana) — “Consolation/Reassurance of the Gods”

न हि जानन्ति देवेशि वेदश्शास्त्राणि कृत्स्नशः । अतीतो महिमा ध्यानं तव वाङ्मनसोश्शिवे

na hi jānanti deveśi vedaśśāstrāṇi kṛtsnaśaḥ | atīto mahimā dhyānaṃ tava vāṅmanasośśive

Wahai Dewi, Ratu para dewa—wahai Yang Maha Suci!

FAQs

It teaches apophatic devotion: the supreme reality of Śiva-Śakti is not fully captured by scripture, speech, or even mental meditation, so the seeker approaches through humility, grace, and lived worship.

Though the ultimate is beyond mind and words (nirguṇa), the Purāṇa supports saguna upāsanā—such as Liṅga worship—as a compassionate, accessible means to focus devotion and receive Śiva’s grace leading toward transcendent realization.

Meditate with mantra and surrender rather than mere conceptualization—e.g., japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with steady bhakti; let worship (pūjā) and inner silence carry the mind beyond speech-bound thought.
