Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating the Purāṇic account to the sages at Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pashu
Sthala Purana: General statement of darśana-phala: sages become pūjya and attain an exalted pada by Śiva’s mere sight—an archetypal Purāṇic motif of sanctification through divine encounter.
Significance: Affirms that contact with Śiva (darśana) elevates even the already-great; inspires pilgrimage as a means of receiving sanctifying presence and inner ‘highest station’.
Role: liberating
It highlights Śiva’s anugraha (grace): mere darśana of the Divine can transform seekers, making them worthy of honor and lifting them toward an exalted spiritual state.
It supports Saguna worship through presence and darśana—whether of Śiva personally or through the Śivaliṅga—teaching that reverent encounter with Śiva’s manifest form purifies and elevates the devotee.
Seek Śiva-darśana through daily Liṅga-pūjā with devotion—optionally with Tripuṇḍra (bhasma), Rudrākṣa, and japa of the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—as a direct practice of receiving grace.
