पार्वतीप्रार्थना—हिमवत्पार्श्वे भिक्षुरूपेण याचनम् | Pārvatī’s Request: Śiva to Seek Her in Beggar-Form at Himālaya’s Court
तस्माद्यथोक्तविधिना कर्तुमर्हसि मे प्रभो । विवाहं त्वं महादेव देवानां कार्य्यसिद्धये
tasmādyathoktavidhinā kartumarhasi me prabho | vivāhaṃ tvaṃ mahādeva devānāṃ kāryyasiddhaye
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Sthala Purana: The verse culminates the corrective intent: the marriage must be done yathokta-vidhi for ‘devānāṃ kārya-siddhi’—the cosmic purpose. This is a loka-saṅgraha motif rather than a site-specific jyotirliṅga origin.
Significance: Frames vivāha as a cosmic-sacramental act; for devotees, it models that major life rites should be performed with śāstric propriety and devotion to invite īśvara’s anugraha.
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: liberating
Offering: dhupa
It presents Shiva’s divine marriage as a dharmic act performed by Saguna Mahādeva for loka-saṅgraha (upholding cosmic order), showing that even the Supreme acts through prescribed rites to bless beings and stabilize the worlds.
The verse emphasizes Saguna Shiva’s compassionate participation in worldly dharma; devotees worship the Liṅga as the same Mahādeva who, though transcendent, accepts ritual order and manifests in līlā for the gods’ and devotees’ welfare.
It highlights yathokta-vidhi—performing worship and vows according to śāstra; a practical takeaway is disciplined pūjā with mantra-japa (especially the Pañcākṣarī, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) done with right procedure and intention.
