Aftermath of Kāma’s Burning
Pārvatī’s Fear and Himavān’s Consolation
Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Type: panchakshara
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: teaching
It teaches that disciplined living (niyama), meditation on Śiva’s form, and steady mantra-japa purify the soul (paśu) and loosen bondage (pāśa), leading to Śiva’s grace (anugraha) swiftly.
The verse emphasizes saguna-upāsanā—contemplating Śiva’s form—supported by mantra-japa; this same devotion can be practiced before the Śiva-liṅga as the tangible focus for meditation and worship.
Maintain niyama (purity, restraint, regular worship), meditate on Śiva’s form, and perform japa of the six-syllable Śiva mantra with concentration for quick inner steadiness and divine favor.
