The Manifestation/Origin of the Rāmeśvara Liṅga
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Umāpati
It highlights bhakti expressed as prompt, disciplined service—hearing a command, acting swiftly, and returning with humility (praṇipāta). In Shaiva thought, such surrendered action purifies the pashu (bound soul) and aligns it toward Pati (Shiva).
Bringing water directly evokes jala-abhisheka, a central act of Saguna Shiva worship through the Linga. The verse models the devotional attitude: offering with reverence and reporting one’s service without ego.
A practical takeaway is to perform water-offering (abhisheka) to Shiva with a bowed, prayerful mind, accompanied by remembrance of the Panchakshara mantra—“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—as an act of humble seva.
