गजाननपूजा तथा औपासन-होमविधिः
Worship of Gajānana and the Procedure of Aupāsana-Homa
यो ह्यन्यथा जपेत्पापो गायत्री शिवरूपिणीम् । स पच्यते महाघोरे नरके कल्पसंख्यया
yo hyanyathā japetpāpo gāyatrī śivarūpiṇīm | sa pacyate mahāghore narake kalpasaṃkhyayā
Namun orang berdosa yang melafazkan Gāyatrī—yang hakikat rupanya ialah Śiva—dengan cara yang tidak wajar, akan ‘dimasak’ dalam neraka yang amat mengerikan selama bilangan kalpa yang tak terhitung.

It stresses that mantra is not mere sound but Śiva’s own śakti; approaching Śiva-form Gāyatrī with wrong method, impure intent, or disrespect becomes a misuse of sacred power and leads to severe karmic consequence.
By calling Gāyatrī “Śiva-rūpiṇī,” the verse frames mantra-japa as direct worship of Saguna Śiva (Śiva with attributes). Like Linga-pūjā, it requires reverence, correctness of practice, and inner purity to bear liberating fruit.
Perform japa with proper vidhi—cleanliness, steady mind, correct pronunciation and meter, devotion (bhakti) to Śiva, and, when appropriate, guidance/initiation from a competent guru—rather than casual or rule-breaking recitation.
