Agni Jātavedas

Himne ringkas ini menyeru Agni sebagai Jātavedas, mendesak agar “tunggangan”-nya (kuasa yang pantas dan berkesan) datang dan mengambil tempat duduknya di atas barhis yang telah disediakan, iaitu hamparan suci upacara. Penyair kemudian mengangkat pujian yang tersusun rapi kepada Agni, sang pemberi yang murah hati, dan akhirnya memanggil sinar-sinar cemerlang Agni—yang membawa persembahan kepada para dewa—agar menggerakkan serta menyempurnakan korban dengan jayanya.
