The Slaying of Kumbhakarna
बभूवथपरित्रस्तोराक्षसोविमुखोऽभवत् ।सिंहनादं च तेचक्रुःप्रहृष्टावनगोचराः ।।।।मारुतिंपूजयाञ्चक्रुर्दृष्टवाशूलंतथागतम् ।
babhūvātha paritrasto rākṣaso vimukho 'bhavat | siṃhanādaṃ ca te cakruḥ prahṛṣṭā vanagocarāḥ || mārutiṃ pūjayāṃ cakrur dṛṣṭvā śūlaṃ tathāgatam ||
Maka Rākṣasa itu pun gementar lalu berpaling undur. Para Vānara yang merayau di rimba bersorak gembira, mengaum seperti singa; melihat lembing itu dipatahkan demikian, mereka memuliakan Māruti (Hanumān).
Rakshasa was dismayed and mellowed. The forest rangers rejoiced and roared like lions going round. Seeing the broken pike Vanaras applauded Hanuman.
Dharma includes gratitude and rightful recognition: honoring protectors and servants of the common good strengthens moral order.
After the weapon is broken, the enemy’s confidence falters; the Vānara forces roar and publicly acclaim Hanumān.
Kīrti earned through service—Hanumān’s protective valor leads to communal praise, reinforcing ideals of loyal duty.
