The Slaying of Prahasta
The bodies of Vanaras and Rakshasas strewn on the ground, seemed like mountains had fallen.
The verse confronts the cost of conflict; dharma demands that violence be undertaken only for truth and necessity, never for pride or greed.
A vivid battlefield tableau: the ground is covered with fallen combatants from both sides.
The implied virtue is vairāgya (sobriety/dispassion): seeing death’s scale encourages ethical seriousness and restraint.
