सेनानिवेशः रामविलापश्च
Encampment on the Northern Shore; Rama’s Lament and Sandhyā
तन्मेदहतिगात्राणिविषंपीतमिवाशये ।हानाथेतिप्रियासामांह्रियमाणायदब्रवीत् ।।।।
tan me dahati gātrāṇi viṣaṃ pītam ivāśaye | hā nātheti priyā sā māṃ hriyamāṇā yad abravīt ||6.5.7||
Fikiran itu membakar seluruh anggota tubuhku seakan-akan racun telah kutelan di dalam dada; kekasihku, ketika diseret pergi, berseru: “Wahai tuanku!”
While being carried away that beloved of mine would have cried aloud saying 'oh! my lord'. This thought is burning my body as though I have consumed poison in my stomach.
Dharma is sensitivity to injustice: the pain arises from witnessing adharma (forced abduction) and strengthens the righteous duty to restore what is right.
The speaker recollects Sītā’s helpless cry during her abduction; the memory torments him like poison.
Compassion and moral urgency—suffering is not self-indulgent but tied to rectifying wrongdoing.
