सागरप्रशमनम् / The Pacification of the Ocean and the Building of Nala’s Bridge
विख्यातंत्रिषुलोकेषुमधुकान्तारमेवतत् ।।6.22.39।।मोक्षयित्वाततःकुक्षिंरामोदशरथात्मजः ।वरंतस्मैददौविद्वान्मरवेऽमरविक्रमः ।।6.22.40।।
vikhyātaṃ triṣu lokeṣu madhukāntāram eva tat |
mokṣayitvā tataḥ kukṣiṃ rāmo daśarathātmajaḥ |
varaṃ tasmai dadau vidvān marave 'maravikramaḥ ||
Kawasan itu—yang bernama Madhukāntāra—termashyur di tiga alam. Lalu Rāma, putera Daśaratha yang bijaksana, berani laksana para dewa, setelah melepaskan dan mengosongkan rongga-rongga tanah, menganugerahkan suatu anugerah kepada Maru.
Marukantaram is famous in the three worlds. Dasaratha's Rama, who is learned and has the valour of gods made the cavities dry and gave a boon.
Dharma is stewardship: after correcting a harmful condition, the righteous hero ensures flourishing by granting a boon—restoration plus uplift.
This verse repeats/summarizes the fame of the region and Rāma’s act of drying the hollows and blessing Maru.
Compassionate strength: power used to stabilize and then to bless.
