Wahai Rāma yang mulia! Jika, meski kita dibesarkan bersama dalam kasih dan terikat rapat, engkau masih tidak mengenaliku dengan sebenar-benarnya, maka binasalah aku untuk selama-lamanya.
"Honourable Rama! If I am not understood by you despite our growing up together with love and in spite of our intimate relationship, I am done forever."
Dharma here centers on mutual trust and recognition within marriage: Sītā appeals to the moral duty of a spouse to know the other’s truth (satya) beyond suspicion.
After the war and Sītā’s recovery, Rāma’s public stance raises doubt about her purity; Sītā responds with anguish, asserting that their shared life should have established trust.
Sītā’s satya (truthfulness) and self-respect: she insists her inner truth should be evident from lived relationship, not merely external proof.
