रावण–रामयुद्धप्रारम्भः
The Intensification of the Rama–Ravana Duel
महोदरमहापार्श्वौहतौदृष्टवातुराक्ष ।तस्मिंश्चनिहतेवीरेविरूपाक्षेमहाबले ।।6.100.1।।आविवेशमहान् क्रोधोरावणंतुमहामृधे ।सूतं सञ्चोदयामास वाक्यं चेदमुवाच ह ।।6.100.2।।
mahōdaramahāpārśvau hatau dṛṣṭvā tu rākṣasau | tasmiṃś ca nihate vīre virūpākṣe mahābale ||
āviveśa mahān krodho rāvaṇaṃ tu mahāmṛdhe | sūtaṃ sañcodayāmāsa vākyaṃ cedam uvāca ha ||
Melihat Rākṣasa Mahodara dan Mahāpārśva terbunuh, dan juga pahlawan perkasa Virūpākṣa telah gugur, di tengah pertempuran dahsyat itu kemarahan besar menyelubungi Rāvaṇa. Lalu dia menggesa sais keretanya dan mengucapkan kata-kata ini.
