सुग्रीवस्य वैरानुकथनम्
Sugriva’s Account of Enmity and Appeal to Rama
यावत्तं नाभिपश्यामि तव भार्यापहारिणम्।तावत्स जीवेत्पापात्मा वाली चारित्रदूषकः।।
yāvat taṃ nābhipaśyāmi tava bhāryāpahāriṇam | tāvat sa jīvet pāpātmā vālī cāritradūṣakaḥ ||
Selagi aku belum memandang dengan mataku sendiri perampas isterimu itu, selagi itulah si berdosa Vālī—pencemar dharma dan akhlak—masih akan hidup.
'That sinful Vali who has abducted your wife and violated the moral code will live only as long I do not see him.
It asserts moral accountability: violations of marital and social order invite righteous correction; dharma does not normalize predatory power.
Rāma intensifies his assurance to Sugrīva, stating Vālī’s life will end once Rāma confronts him.
Moral indignation guided by dharma: Rāma’s anger is directed toward ethical violation, not personal gain.
