The Showing of Śiva’s Bow and Rama’s Breaking of It
Having heard this, the king with folded hands said to the great soul Viswamitra sitting with the two princes Rama and Lakshmana:
Dharma as reverence to spiritual authority: Janaka honors the sage and the princes through respectful posture and speech.
After the bow is brought, Janaka turns to Viśvāmitra and the two brothers to speak about the bow and the challenge.
Humility and respect—royalty bows (symbolically) before wisdom and righteousness.
