Description of Ayodhya under Daśaratha
नामृष्टभोजी नादाता नाप्यनङ्गदनिष्कधृक् ।नाहस्ताभरणो वाऽपि दृश्यते नाप्यनात्मवान् ।।1.6.11।।
nāmṛṣṭabhojī nādātā nāpy anaṅgadaniṣkadhṛk |
nāhastābharaṇo vāpi dṛśyate nāpy anātmavān ||1.6.11||
Tiada seorang pun makan tanpa rasa puas; tiada yang tidak dermawan; tiada yang terlihat tanpa gelang lengan dan perhiasan leher, dan tiada pula tanpa permata di tangan; serta tiada yang didapati kurang pengendalian diri.
(In the city of Ayodhya) there was no one who did not eat food to full satisfaction and was not charitable. None was found without wearing ornaments on the hands and bracelets on the upper arms and around the neck. Also no one could be seen who had not restrained his passions and emotions.
