Marica dan Subahu, beserta para pengikut mereka—berwajah ngeri—datang lalu mencurahkan banjir darah ke atas upacara suci itu.
Maricha and Subahu of fearful appearance arrived with their followers and rained streams of blood (on the sacrificial altar).
Dharma is framed as the protection of sacred rites (yajña) and social-religious order; the rākṣasas’ act is adharma because it desecrates a sanctified duty performed for the welfare of all.
Mārīca and Subāhu arrive to disrupt Viśvāmitra’s sacrifice by raining blood, escalating the crisis that requires Rāma’s protective intervention.
By contrast (through the villains’ act), the virtue foregrounded is the kṣatriya duty of safeguarding dharma—soon to be embodied by Rāma’s decisive protection of the yajña.
