अयोमुखी-दर्शनम् तथा कबन्ध-प्रवेशः
Ayomukhi Encounter and the ظهور of Kabandha
कराभ्यां विविधान्गृह्यऋक्षान्पक्षिगणान्मृगान्।आकर्षन्तं विकर्षन्तमनेकान्मृगयूथपान्।।।।स्थितमावृत्य पन्थानं तयोर्भ्रात्रोः प्रपन्नयोः।
karābhyāṁ vividhān gṛhya ṛkṣān pakṣigaṇān mṛgān |
ākarṣantaṁ vikarṣantaṁ anekān mṛgayūthapān ||
sthitam āvṛtya panthānaṁ tayoḥ bhrātroḥ prapannayoḥ ||3.69.32||
Dengan kedua-dua tangannya dia menangkap pelbagai beruang, kawanan burung dan rusa; ada yang ditariknya ke arah dirinya, ada yang dicampaknya jauh, bahkan diseretnya para ketua kawanan binatang. Berdiri di situ, dia menutup jalan bagi dua bersaudara yang datang melalui laluan itu.
He stood rooted there, catching bears, flocks of birds and deer with both his hands stretching up to one yojana, pulling and pushing them. (Now) he obstructed the path of the two brothers.
Dharma here appears as the duty to confront obstruction and violence that threaten rightful travel and safety; adharma blocks the path, and the righteous must respond.
Kabandha actively terrorizes creatures and then physically obstructs Rama and Lakshmana’s route.
Perseverance and resolve: the brothers must continue their righteous quest despite intimidation and impediments.
