शरभङ्गाश्रमगमनम् तथा इन्द्रदर्शनम्
Approach to Sarabhanga’s Hermitage and the Vision of Indra
त्वयाऽहं पुरुषव्याघ्र धार्मिकेण महात्मना।समागम्य गमिष्यामि त्रिदिवं देवसेवितम्।।3.5.30।।
tvayā 'haṃ puruṣavyāghra dhārmikeṇa mahātmanā |
samāgamya gamiṣyāmi tridivaṃ devasevitam ||3.5.30||
“Wahai yang terbaik di kalangan manusia, setelah aku bertemu denganmu—yang berpegang pada dharma dan berhati agung—barulah aku akan berangkat ke syurga, alam yang diziarahi para dewa.”
O Rama, the best of men ! (only) after seeing a great, virtuous soul like you shall I go to heaven, the abode of the gods.
Dharma as the highest honor: meeting a truly righteous person is treated as more weighty than immediate celestial reward.
Śarabhaṅga explains that he delayed his departure to heaven in order to meet Rāma first.
