उत्पातदर्शनं खरसैन्यसमागमश्च
Omens of calamity and the approach of Khara’s army
तानुत्पातान्महोघोरानुत्थितान्रोमहर्षणान्।प्रजानामहितान्दृष्ट्वा रामो लक्ष्मणमब्रवीत्।।।।
tān utpātān mahā-ghorān utthitān roma-harṣaṇān | prajānām ahitān dṛṣṭvā rāmo lakṣmaṇam abravīt ||
Melihat tanda-tanda buruk yang amat dahsyat itu bangkit—menggerunkan, membuat bulu roma meremang, dan membawa mudarat kepada segala makhluk—Rama pun bersabda kepada Lakshmana.
