पञ्चाप्सरो-सरः कथनम् तथा अगस्त्याश्रममार्गनिर्देशः
Panchapsara Lake Account and Directions to Agastya
तस्येदमाश्रमपदं प्रभावाद्यस्य राक्षसैः।दिगियं दक्षिणा त्रासाद्दृश्यते नोपभुज्यते।।।।
tasyedam āśramapadaṃ prabhāvād yasya rākṣasaiḥ | dig iyaṃ dakṣiṇā trāsād dṛśyate nopabhujyate ||
Inilah tapak pertapaan baginda; kerana daya rohani baginda, para Rākṣasa memandang ke arah selatan ini dengan gentar, namun mereka tidak mampu mengganas atau memangsa di sini.
This is his hermitage. On account of his (Agastya's) impact the demons look south but cannot eat the hermits out of fear (for the sage).
Dharma protects: the ascetic’s tapas functions as a shield for the innocent. Wickedness is restrained not merely by force, but by the moral-spiritual authority of a righteous life.
The sage explains that Agastya’s hermitage is effectively off-limits to demons, who fear his influence.
Agastya’s spiritual potency joined with protective compassion—his righteousness creates safety for others.
