Concept: All categories—Pradhāna, Puruṣa, even elemental vastness—terminate in the Lord, whose nature is Brahman; the Supreme is the boundary (anta) of all states.

Application: When analyzing life through categories (body/mind/nature), keep tracing causes until resting in the ultimate Lord; cultivate ‘cause-inquiry’ (kāraṇa-vicāra) alongside devotion.

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A vertical cosmological diagram unfolds like a temple-tower of principles: at the base, swirling Pradhāna as a dark ocean; above it, Puruṣa as a silent witness; then a vast dome of ether, and a higher, purifying fire. At the summit stands the Lord as Brahman—an all-encompassing aureole where every category dissolves into auspicious radiance.","primary_figures":["Symbolic Pradhāna (cosmic ocean)","Puruṣa (witness silhouette)","Vishnu as Īśvara/Brahman (summit radiance)"],"setting":"Mythic-cosmic axis mundi; layered elemental realms transitioning into pure light.","lighting_mood":"divine radiance","color_palette":["obsidian black","deep violet","sky blue","flame orange","molten gold"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: tiered cosmic architecture like a gopuram of tattvas—bottom band as dark prakṛti waves, middle as translucent ākāśa dome, upper as stylized agni flames; at top, Vishnu-Īśvara within a gold-leaf prabhāmaṇḍala, heavy ornamentation, gem-studded borders, rich reds/greens framing the metaphysical ascent.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: a lyrical vertical composition with soft gradients—prakṛti as ink-wash, puruṣa as pale figure, ākāśa as clear blue vault, agni as delicate saffron flame; the summit rendered as a quiet golden haze labeled by subtle icon hints (chakra-like sun disc), refined faces if anthropomorphic Vishnu is shown.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: bold outlines separating tattva layers; prakṛti as coiled serpent-ocean motif, ākāśa as patterned blue field, agni as rhythmic red-yellow tongues; the Supreme as a large circular golden aura with Vaishnava emblems, temple-wall symmetry and saturated pigments.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: concentric circles representing tattvas—outer dark prakṛti ring, inner sky-blue ākāśa ring, then a flame-petal ring; center is a radiant Vaishnava bindu with chakra-lotus motifs, ornate floral borders, deep blues and gold with intricate patterning."}

FAQs

It frames Śiva as the supreme reality transcending both matter (Pradhāna) and individual consciousness (Puruṣa), aligning Śiva with the non-dual Brahman beyond Sāṅkhya categories.

They function as cosmological markers in a hierarchy of principles, culminating in the identification of the ultimate limit and ground of all existence as Īśvara/Śiva.

It encourages detachment from changing conditions and identities, directing devotion and contemplation toward the unconditioned Lord who underlies and completes all experience.
