Kanyāśrama

FAQs

The verse emphasizes disciplined ascetic observance—specifically brahmacarya (celibate restraint) combined with upavāsa (fasting) for a period of three nights.

Kanyāśrama is presented as a sacred place associated with austerity and vow-observance, where the practitioner undertakes regulated conduct and fasting.

It highlights self-control and intentional discipline: spiritual aims are supported by restraint (niyama), celibacy, and voluntary simplicity such as fasting.
