Concept: Upacāra (proper ritual service) offered with bhakti sanctifies the worshipper; pradakṣiṇā seals the act as surrender and reverence.

Application: Keep a small daily practice: light a lamp, offer a simple sattvika item, and end with mindful circumambulation/pradakṣiṇā (or a respectful walk around the altar) as a habit of humility.

Primary Rasa: shanta

Secondary Rasa: adbhuta

Type: temple

FAQs

It outlines a simple Shiva-puja sequence: light a ghee lamp, perform ghee-abhiṣeka to Śiva, offer a coconut (śrīphala) along with ghee, and conclude with pradakṣiṇā (circumambulation).

Ghee functions as a sacred, purifying offering in Hindu ritual; lighting a ghee lamp signifies auspicious worship, and using ghee in abhiṣeka expresses devotion through a valued, sanctified substance.

It emphasizes orderly, reverent worship—offering one’s best with sincerity and completing the act with humility through pradakṣiṇā.
