FAQs

It emphasizes atithi-satkāra—welcoming and honoring a revered guest (especially a sage/brāhmaṇa) with a seat and respectful attention.

“Vipra” is an honorific for a learned, spiritually accomplished brāhmaṇa; it underscores respect for wisdom and ascetic authority, qualities traditionally associated with Nārada.

The verse teaches that true reverence is expressed through conduct—offering hospitality, courteous speech, and readiness to serve—rather than mere words.
