व्यास उवाच । ततो वृत्रो महातेजा दैत्यानां प्रवरो युधि । दिग्गजाढ्यं गजारूढः प्राद्रवद्बलसूदनम्
vyāsa uvāca | tato vṛtro mahātejā daityānāṃ pravaro yudhi | diggajāḍhyaṃ gajārūḍhaḥ prādravadbalasūdanam
Vyāsa bersabda: Maka Vṛtra yang bersinar gagah—terunggul antara para Dānava di medan perang—menaiki gajah perkasa laksana diggaja, lalu menerjang ke arah pembunuh Bala (Balasūdana).
